We recommend making a booking for week-ends and school holiday periods. Otherwise just drop in and we'll try and sort something out for you. Longest waiting time is normally not more than an hour (cafe/restaurants near by).
What happens with my booking if it is bad weather?
When you book 7 days or more in advance, we simply work with you to agree a new date/time slot when the weather is better.
Do we need to make a Bond?
Photo ID/drivers licence and a Bond of $200 or a credit card for all hires is required at time of hire.

Yes, we have Eftpos
Do I need a mobile phone
For safety purposes, we ask all "captains" to take a mobile phone with them on the boat, to be used in case of emergency.

Yes, there is parking directly next to our boat shed plus also on Pt. Nepean road.
What do we need to bring?
Seasonsal clothing (hat, sunglasses, warm clothes), fishing equipment if you don't want to hire it, food and drinks (drinks & ice creams available at kiosk on site), mobile phone (for safety purposes) and sunscreen, and camera for some beautiful and fun pics to keep of your time on the bay

Are you near the shops?
Yes, we are within a short walking distance of the Rosebud East shops and a 2 minute drive to McCrae Plaza (Coles, a nice cafe, etc)
Does everyone have to have a safety briefing?
Yes. We need to ensure that you know how to operate the boat and what to do in an emergency situation. We also offer longer training sessions for beginners if required.
Are there boundries or limits where you can go?
Each boat operator in Australia has a specific area that they are allowed to operate in. In the case of Rosebud Boat Hire this is within a 3.2 km radius from our boatshed - which provides plenty of opportunity for some great fishing. In fact, where we are located the fish are known to bite just a few hundred metres out from our boat shed.
Do I need a boating licence?
No. A boating licence is not needed.
Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes. You will need a fishing licence to fish in any waters in the State of Victoria. Our boat hire does not include fishing licences and we do not sell them. Simply go on-line to get your licence (starting at $6) from the Department of Primary Industry. Get fishing licence here.
